Julia Mashaal, MSW (She/Her)
Clinical Social Worker
Julia is a Clinical Social Worker with a focus on treating clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, major life transitions, relational difficulties, low self-esteem, grief, loneliness, and trauma. Julia strives to create a safe and supportive environment, in which her client’s feel comfortable to share their thoughts and feelings, as well as begin working towards overcoming challenges and reaching their goals.
Julia received her Master of Social Work degree at Columbia University in New York City and her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON.
Julia worked as a psychotherapist for over five years at the Fifth Avenue Counseling Center in NYC and served as the Clinical Coordinator of the Center, here she continues to maintain her role in a remote capacity. When Julia returned to her hometown of Montreal, she worked as a Clinical Social Worker in the Mood and Anxiety and Emergency Room Follow-Up services in outpatient psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital.
Julia is a member of the Order of Social Workers, Family, and Marriage Therapists of Quebec and has maintained her license as a Social Worker in New York State.
