Jill Wood, BSW (She/Her)

Social Work Intern

Jill has diverse experience working with vulnerable clients in public mental health, and is completing her Masters Degree in Social Work at McGill University.

The relationship between counsellor and client is unique. Jill creates a warm, non judgmental space for her clients that is free from the pressures and dynamics of the outside world. This facilitates candid conversation, fresh insights and collaborative exploration of the client’s life and goals. Jill supports clients through an individualized approach that may include dialectical behaviour therapy strategies such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

Jill is curious about people and their stories. She supports clients experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, loss, illness, burnout and life’s transitions. She believes in exploring the context of the whole person within their particular world, in order to find soil for the seeds of change to be planted.
