Brandon Benchimol-Elkaim, MA (He/Him)
Doctoral Candidate
Brandon is a doctoral candidate in the Counselling Psychology program at McGill University. He previously completed a practicum at the McGill Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic, where he offered psychotherapy to adults presenting with anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress. He also worked at the Cedars Cancer Centre, providing active listening to patients undergoing cancer
treatment. Currently, Brandon is working at openspace clinic as an intern under the supervision of Dr. Laura Fontil and Dr. Christine Saykaly.
Brandon enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those dealing with mood, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders, as well as helping children and families navigate adjustment and life transition issues. Brandon uses a warm, compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach when working with his clients. He also uses various therapeutic approaches based on each client’s needs.
