Aïka Mathelier is a French, English, and (Haitian) Creole speaking licensed Social Worker She holds a Master in Social Work degree with a focus on intercultural interventions, and intergenerational conflicts.She is a member in good standing of the Ordre desTravailleurs Sociaux et Thérapeutes Conjugaux et Familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Aïka is training to obtain a certification in Dance Movement Therapy (DMT). She has several years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in different contexts. She currently primarily offers individual support services to adolescents and adults.
In her practice, Aïka aims at providing a safe and collaborative space void of any judgement where one can feel heard, seen, and respected for who they are and what they have experienced. Through conversations and based on identified goals, she aims to empower and guide as one optimizes their relationship to themselves and their environment. Aïka tailors her approach to the needs of the person across from her. She offers support related to interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, anxiety and depression symptoms, stress, and work challenges.
